The classes
Wartune has 3 classes to choose from; The Knight, The Archer and The Mage.
The Knight is the classic tank. It uses physical attacks. It has high defense and can use a shield in battle to take 0 damage for a certain amount of time. It also has a skill that targets the opponent with the least health to drop it quick. However the attack of the Knight is weak compared with the other classes but can still pack a mean punch with its excepțional skills.
Starting stats:
5 Strengths
1 Armor
1 Intellect
5 Endurance
100 Charisma
Stats gained on levelup:
+2 Strength
+1 Armor
+2 Endurance
+10 Charisma
The Archer is a damage dealer. It also uses physical attacks. It has balanced attack and defense. The Archer becomes a heavy hitter due to the high rate of critical attacks it can do and most of the Archers skills boost the critical rating to land a strong hit each time. The Archer also has a few trick shots such as poison and lifesteal. However it takes skill and cash to make a good Archer that stands out from the rest as they are the most popular class.
Starting stats:

1 Armor
1 Intellect
5 Endurance
100 Charisma
Stats gained on levelup:
+3 Strength
+1 Armor
+1 Endurance
+10 Charisma
The Mage is also a damage dealer. It is the only class that uses magic attacks. This means they are strong against the other classes in terms of causing damage. However they have a weak defense unless boosted by gems and astrals. They rely on finishing a match fast with strong attacks but falter against enemies with boosted HP and magic defence. They are great to have in dungeons and if used well can rule in the PVP arena. Edit: With the addition of the 2nd skill tree, the mage can have a full heal spec which helps mightily in mp dungeons and catacombs.

Skills
It is really tempting to take the shortest path to getting the ultimate skills however if you want to be good in PVP you will want to focus on the lower skills and build them up first. You see the thing with PVP matches is they start you off with 0 rage points and are over really quickly. Therefore you will never build up enough rage to use your ultimate which takes all 100 rage points (unless you have a rage rune). So if your lower less rage costly attacks are at their peak you will fare better in PVP.
Edit: A recent patch added a 2nd skill tree so you can go down a different path for a PVE spec.
Gems
Gems are socketed into your gear to give you boosted stats. They can be combined to create stronger gems. They are well worth buying as they can be reused again and again. If you cant buy them, then an HP one in each gear is a good strategy.
HP gem - Raises your hit points, this is good for any class and you should aim to have a high level one in each of your gears
MATK - Magic attack gem, use ONLY for mages. This little beauty means your mage packs an even bigger punch. A mage should have one of these on each gear.
PATK - Physical attack gem, good for archers and knights. A good amount of these is nice but exactly how many is dependant on what build you go for.
MDEF - Magic defense gem, ok for any class but mages probably wont need to use them and knights and archers can get away with just one or two if any.
PDEF - Physical defense gem, good for all classes. A few are always good. Mages will want to have a good number of these.
Crit Gem - Raises the critical chance. Archers love these but they are good for all classes. Knights and mages might want a couple of these socketed depending on build.
Block gem - Raises the amount of damage you can block. These may look like a good thing but it is better to invest in the above kinds of gems rather than these.
Charisma gem - Raises the troop count to make your troops tougher. You probably won't want these as the troop count can be raised other ways.
Astrals
The Astral collection screenAstrals, like gems, give you added stat boosts. They are expensive in gold to upgrade but are well worth it.
Green astrals - You dont want these except to upgrade with. They are the lowest grade of astral. Personally I sell these to gain gold back to increase star points.
Blue - these are good to use until you can find a higher level astral. These are good to level up astrals with.
Pink/Purple - the normal stat boost ones are great (like PATK, HP, MDEF etc) but the weird ones like blessed soul and will destroyer only really come in to play at a later player level, like you could have them when you are 50 to 80 once you fill up your astral chart with natural astrals.
Yellow - these are the granddaddy of all astrals and are a b*tch to get. Same principle applies as the purple astrals. Normal good, weird not so good.
The red astral in the astral shop adds 500 exp onto another astral when you drop it on it.
Troops
The BarracksTroops protect and support you in battle. There are different types and they can be upgraded. Mages want their troops in front to protect them. Most knights have their troops behind them so that they can tank the damage while their troops do support damage. Archers can do either front or behind according to whether their build is more tanky or damage dealing. Troops take daru to upgrade.
Lancers - Your first troop. You will want to have these up until level 20. Only upgrade these to level 15 so you have daru to spare for your next set of stronger troops.
Hunters - You get these at level 5. They are stronger than lancers but you will not want to get them because you will level to 20 so fast they are not worth the daru.
Priests - You get these at level 20. They deal magic damage so some knights and archers like to have these. Level to 20-25.
Paladins - You get these at level 20 also. They deal physical damage and are a nice shield to have in front especially for mages. Most people find them to be more effective than priests due to their heavy strike skill. Level to 20-25.
Gryphons - You get these at level 30. These are awesome and everybody has to have them. They use a stun skill every now and then which is nice in PVP and they have great HP and damage. Level to 30-35.
Knights - You get these at level 40. They deal physical damage in great amounts and have high defense. These are the preferred troops
Angel - You get these at level 40 also. They deal magic damage and have a restore skill.
Game time
Game time is in PDT - Pacific Daylight Time. This is 7 hours behind Coordinated Universal time (UTC).
World Map
The World MapThe world map has many features as explained below.
You can attack other players cities up to 5 times a day or you can buy more attempts. If you win you get gold and kyanite.
You can attack gold mines either held by creatures or other players. The higher the gold mine the more gold you earn.
Treasure chests are guarded by creature. The higher the chest the higher the monster. Chests usually contain gears.
Wandering creatures can be slain to obtain daru pearls that are worth 1000 daru each.
You can teleport your hero around the map but this uses up 100 energy. You get 500 energy a day. You can teleport your city for 200 energy.
The Academy
In the Academy you can upgrade gold production and skills using Kyanite. What skills you need are pretty easy to work out according to your class. For example a knight will want to raise PATK and MDEF and ignore MATK and a mage will want MATK and PDEF and ignore PATK. HP is also important to raise. Also troop attack and HP is important too but secondary to your heros needs. Do gold production when you can spare the Kyanite.
Researching costs Kyanite. The first level of each tech uses 50 Kyanite, and every level after uses ((level-1) x 10) more Kyanite than the last (so the formula is (level x (level - 1) x 5 + 50)). Also, researching has a cooldown. The cooldown increases by 30 seconds a level for levels 1-10, by 5 minutes a level for levels 11-15, and by 10 minutes a level for levels 16 and above.
The farm
The FarmAs soon as you can add as many friends as you can and get farming! The higher level your farm is the more seeds you can plant and considering seeds can get you experience, daru, gold and kyanite this is something you do not want to be lazy with. The more you help out on other people's farms the more experience your own farm gets. People will harvest your plants but dont be mad by that as they can only take a certain amount and you get more back than they can take by harvesting your friends farms. Once you get all your farm slots you can delete any friends you don't want to keep.
The world boss
Ok so the first time you face this you may go OMG because you die so quick but this is normal I promise. The point of the world boss is to cause it as much damage as you can so just keep reviving and hitting it. You get gold and daru every time you face it and at the end you get a bonus depending on how much damage you did. If you rack up enough damage to take off 1% of its HP you get a further 50k gold 50k daru reward. If you get the last hit on it you get rewards of up to 1.2mil gold. If you get in the top 3 players you get lots of gold and daru. You can use balens to revive faster. When attacking World Bosses, you will NOT lose any troops.
First hit
When a fight is loading you can get a hit in while the screen is black. This is useful on world boss and in PVP.
Runes and potions
The ShopRunes can be won or can be bought from the shop with vouchers. You equip them in your inventory to give you an advantage in PVP where they are most useful.
Potions can be won or bought from the guild store. You consume them through your inventory. They last for one hour and are useful in PVP. The endurance potion is useful in world boss fight to give you more HP and you may survive a hit or even two at higher levels. Strength (physical) and intelligence (magic) are also good to use in world boss fight to make you hit harder.
Bear in mind that while you may be able to beat opponents in arena using runes and potions, people will be able to take your spot again because they have no effect when somebody challenges you.
The Arena
The Arena is where you take on other people 1 vs1 or 3 vs 3.
1 vs 1 is open all day whereas multiplayer arena is open twice for one hour. To advance on the 1 vs 1 arena you must fight to the top rank which is 1. You initially start at a low rank but you can fight someone of a higher rank to gain their ranking. You get an arena ranking reward every 3 days.
3 vs 3 arena gives 6 insignia for a win and 2 for a loss. The system will try to match your opponent as the average grade of your group. Insignia give arena rewards.
The Battlegrounds (BG)
The battlegrounds are where you prove your mettle against opponents you may not necessarily fight elsewhere. There are two tiers of BG: 39- and 40+. Teams are 15 vs 15. Beating opponents gets you honor. Honor gains you ranks.
Level 1 0- Commoner
Level 2 2000-Private
Level 3 4000-Champion
Level 4 7000-Warrior
Level 5 10000- Elite Warrior
Level 6 32000- Crusader
Level 7 60000- Knight Crusader
Level 8 88000-Elite Crusader
Level 9 126000-High Commander
Level 10 176000-Imperial Commander
Level 11 240000-Lord Divine
Battlegrond!
The BG also contains a field of crystals, those players who do not wish to fight can gain honor through digging these up and running them back to the resource guy. You will also gain shards that you can use to synthesise a battleground chest which may contain lv3 gems, soul crystals or kyanite. Of course, you do run the risk of being pounced on by high level players looking for easy kills so try to be sneaky!
Insignias are also gained here. The team that gets to 5000 points first and wins the match gets 60 insignias. The losing side gets 30.
The BG may be frustrating to those who are ill-equipped. A good tip is to stay level 39 as long as possible to gain more gems, better astrals and more guild buffs while also getting the commander rank, before entering the mayhem that is 40+
With the commander rank and enough insignias comes the level 45 arena gear so the BG is very important to do.
And remember, it is better to go to the BG and lose a lot rather than never go at all!
The Forgotten Catacombs
This is a test of strength. It opens at lv23. it has 100 floors. Knights particularly excel here at first, the other 2 classes falter a little on the first 40 levels but then excel after. The more floors of the catacombs you do the stronger you are. You can do this 2 times a day and you get experience and items as rewards. You can revive once each time you go in or you can spend 25 balens to revive more often. Crypt gives tokens which can be spent on gear.
Bounties
You can do bounties 20 times a day so pick carefully. It is best to just try and do the orange, violet and blue bounties. Leave any lower ones. Bounties may include; apprehend villains, whack-a-mouse, QTE training, kill monsters and enchanting/synthesizing items.
The Blacksmith
Enchanting - Costly but upgrading your gear this way is worth it. You really want to be doing this after you get the level 20 armor from the multiplayer dungeons.Upgrading anything before that is a waste. Luck stones can be used for better results.
Socket - This adds gems to your armour. Additional sockets can be purchased but this is only really worth doing on level 35+ armour.
Synthesize - Make gears, combine gems into better gems, combine luck stones, combine crystaloids and combine refinement crystals all good stuff. Crystaloids come from multiplayer dungeons and also campaigns to a lesser extent.
Refine - A little confusing at first. Refining costs refinement crystals. This can get you better stats on your gears and even upgrade the stats. To refine put the item in the slot and click refine. If you like the result click on swap new stats. You must press this to get the new stats - do not forget.
Recycle - turn unwanted gears into refinement crystals. Simples.
Soul engraving
Avalable at level 35. Soul engraving uses soul crystals to add stats to gems. Each level of soul engraving adds an extra 2% to gem stats. To soul engrave go to your equipment screen and click the engraving button which is next to your helmet on the top left.
Multiplayer maps
Multiplayer maps are located in the Hall of Heroes inside your city. Four people can run this dungeon. A good way to gain experience is to use exp scrolls in here and do numeroase runs at once. You get a 50% exp scroll a day from completing tasks in the bonus section.
Gold Production
Level up your Town Hall and Gold Refinery as much as possible.
Attack players 5 times a day.
Levy 5 times a day. Gold gained is 6x what your Town Hall produces an hour.
Plant gold seeds in your farm and harvest other players gold.
Capture 2 goldmines the highest level you can.
Level up gold production in the academy.
Level up gold production guild buff.
Do every world boss.
Gain the highest arena rank you can.
Daru tip
To gain lots of daru attack wandering mobs (called managogs) in the wilds which drop daru pearls.
The Market
The Market is a place to buy rare items cheaply with balens. It refreshes items every 4 hours or can be speeded up with 45 balens. The only things really worth it are the gems which are cheaper than buying level 2 gems in the shop and synthesising them up.
VIP Mode
Don't bother with VIP mode unless you are planning on spending alot of balens. The extra exp only counts in dungeons and the VIP tokens only really drop seeds and potions. So unless you are willing to spend alot to up the VIP level just dont waste your money.
Wartune orgy
The online adverts for the game promise an orgy, however you cannot make love in wartune it is just to draw you in. It is reminiscent of the old adverts for Evony 'Come play my Lord'. If you want to find sex go discover the outside world, its a lovely place really! |
